“Mens sana in corpore sano”, a healthy mind in a healthy body, is part of the philosophy of The English School. Indeed, The English School always encourages its students to take part in sports activities, both individually and in team sports.
On Friday 23td of June, The School was proud to celebrate the many achievements of its student athletes during two Sports Awards ceremonies.
During the events, the Inter-House Championship and Cup Awards were presented, together with the Individual Athletic Awards to students who excelled in Athletics as well as those who set New School Records.
The Head of House Awards were also given out to students for exceptional contribution to the House. Furthermore, the Out-of-School Sporting Achievements of our students were recognised. Last but not least, The English School teams were rewarded for their outstanding achievements in competition against public, private and a number of sports schools.
The Guest of Honour for the Senior Students Sports Awards Ceremony was Mr Constantinos Yiorkadjis, Mayor of Nicosia, an Old Boy of The School.
